Celebrating the 120th Anniversary of the 'Golden Era' of Irish
Tennis - August 2010
In 1890 all Wimbledon winners were Irish. That year Kilkenny's
Mabel Cahill reached the US All-Comer's final, the 'Golden Era'
was underway. The book was relaunched on the 28th August 2010 at a
knockdown price of €60.

Website Launch - Wednesday November 1st
The official launch of the website www.historyofirishtennis.ie
took place in Sligo Tennis Club on Wednesday 1st November.
At the launch were President of Sligo Tennis
Club
Seamus O'Toole (standing left), webmaster Vincent McGee and
author Tom Higgins (both seated).
Sponsorship
November 1st: Tennis Captain Pat Harte
presented a very generous sponsorship cheque to author Tom
Higgins. The cheque will go towards the cost of printing
the book and was presented on behalf of the Tennis Section of
Sligo Tennis Club.
